# Harvey

**What it is.** A gen-AI-powered legal platform used by law firms and in-house legal teams to draft and analyze documents. In the article it is the canonical example in the [[concept-quality-control-zone|Quality Control Zone]]: lawyers use Harvey to generate strong **draft contracts in minutes**, freeing them to focus on negotiation and final review (human-in-the-loop).

**Why it matters strategically.** Harvey is also a concrete signal behind [[claim-disintermediation-risk|the disintermediation claim]] — as in-house legal departments adopt it for routine work, they reduce reliance on outside counsel.
