## Description

**ChatGPT** is OpenAI's conversational interface to the GPT family of models. In this video it is referenced **only as a point of contrast** — Alex coins the term *"ChatGPT thinking"* to describe the inefficient vending-machine mental model that Skills and Projects are meant to replace (see [[claim-vending-machine-usage]] and [[quote-vending-machine]]).

## Note on fairness

The pejorative framing of "ChatGPT thinking" is a rhetorical device about *user behavior*, not a claim that ChatGPT lacks systematization features. OpenAI offers Custom GPTs and tool use that are conceptually analogous to Claude Skills + MCP. The contrast is more about typical usage patterns than platform capabilities.
