## The collapse-then-rebuild structure

Four videos, read in series, narrate the trust stack first collapsing and then re-emerging as the most durable vertical of the agentic economy.

## The collapse

- **S07** establishes [[concept-evidence-baseline-collapse]]: AI image generation has reduced the cost of flawless forgery to zero, breaking KYC, fact-checking, insurance fraud detection, and legal discovery. [[claim-trust-stack-obsolete]] is the headline; [[quote-trust-stack-update]] is the urgency call.
- **S15** adds the *internal* trust collapse: even with high-fidelity inputs, [[claim-illusion-of-judgment]] means the AI's *interpretive connections* are no more trustworthy than its raw reasoning. [[concept-silent-failure]] is the mechanism inside organizations.
- **S24** adds the *operational* trust collapse: when AI optimizes the wrong metric ([[claim-klarna-intent-failure]]), customer trust erodes through a thousand 'successful' interactions.

## The rebuild

- **S28** makes [[concept-vertical-trust]] the first of the [[framework-5-durable-verticals|5 Durable Verticals]]. Verification, routing, and safety layers become high-leverage businesses precisely *because* the baseline collapsed. [[entity-stripe]] is the canonical example: $1T+ in volume = unmatched verification authority.
- **S28** also makes [[concept-vertical-liability]] the fifth durable vertical. [[claim-liability-cannot-be-automated]] argues AI cannot go to jail, be sued, or absorb financial ruin — so accountability is structurally human. [[entity-deloitte-d28]] is repositioning as an AI assurance provider.

## The unifying logic

Every video in this arc agrees on the same shape: as AI commoditizes one capability, *trust around* that capability appreciates by the same magnitude. Forgery was hard → fact-checking was easy. Forgery is now free → fact-checking is now valuable. Coordination was costly → middle management was valuable. Coordination is now free → editorial judgment is now valuable. Implementation was costly → engineers were valuable. Implementation is now free → spec authorship and architectural taste are now valuable.

This is the same pattern as Jevons-paradox demand expansion in [[claim-infinite-software-demand]] (S01) and [[claim-curation-scarcest-resource]] (S28): the cheap thing makes the adjacent scarce thing more valuable.

## Open question

[[question-trust-stack-rebuild]] (S07) and [[question-liability-legal-precedent]] (S28) remain unresolved. The market is racing to see who builds the cryptographic provenance, the agent-discovery directory, the AI insurance underwriter, and the legal precedent. See [[arc-agentic-economy-foundations]].
